How to filter Inventory with the Friendly Blue Tornado

Apply one or multiple filters to your Inventory Records to see the data that you want

Individual Inventory Records can be easily searched through ArtCloud, but one or multiple filters can be applied to find specific groups of records.

To help in your filtering endeavors, ArtCloud has the Friendly Blue Tornado!

You can find the Friendly Blue Tornado under the Inventory tab, to the right of the search bar at the top of the page.

After clicking on the Friendly Blue Tornado, you'll notice several different filters that can be applied to your searches.

Click one of the filters, and you'll notice that the text in the search field to the left of the Tornado will change.

After applying the Artist filter, for example, the text in the search bar becomes Search artists... . After searching an artist, a filter will apply to your search to only find Inventory items creagted by that particular artist.

Multiple filters can be applied to a search to narrow it down further. Below are inventory items created by Salvador Dalí, and whose Location is in the Gallery.

Special filters

Certain filters work differently than others. Some filters are straightforward like the Artist filter mentioned earlier. Select the filter from the dropdown under the Friendly Blue Tornado and type the Location, Medium, etc. that you would like to filter your Inventory by. Some filters work a little differently.

Height

img5-8

The Height filter uses both a dropdown and a search bar. The dropdown has three options:

  • >= — Picking this option means you would like the results of your search to be less than or equal to whatever is typed into the Height field
  • <= — Choosing this option means you would like the results of your search to be more than or equal to whatever is typed into the Height field
  • = — Picking this option means you would like the results of your search to be exactly equal to whatever is typed into the Height field

The dropdown option is picked first, and the amount is typed into the Height field next to it.

Width

The Width filter uses both a dropdown and a search bar. The dropdown has three options:

  • >= — Picking this option means you would like the results of your search to be less than or equal to whatever is typed into the Width field
  • <= — Choosing this option means you would like the results of your search to be more than or equal to whatever is typed into the Width field
  • = — Picking this option means you would like the results of your search to be exactly equal to whatever is typed into the Width field

The dropdown option is picked first, and the amount is typed into the Width field next to it.

Color

img7-4

With this filter, you can pick a specific color or Hex Code to sort your pieces by.

So what is a Hex Code?

Hex Codes or Hexadecimal Values are often used in graphic design, web development, and countless other media to represent a specific color value. They are typically preceded by a hashtag and have 3 or 6 numbers or letters. For example, #FFFFFF is the Hex Code for white, and #000000 is the Hex Code for black.

How do I know what Hex Code or RBG Value is the color that I want?

Using this link, you can use a visual color-picker to pick what colors you would like for your Campaign, and the picker will give back the corresponding Hex Code or RGB Value.
