How to create and edit a Media post

Easily build or edit a Media post and add it to your website

A Media post is a way to display videos, other types of media, or create tabs of information on your website pages. Media posts can be used in various ways depending on how you want to build your website, and we do recommend ArtCloud Website subscribers use Media posts to build custom aspects of their website. If you're looking to add a video to a specific page on your website, please make sure to check out our Pro+ Linking article for Media Posts.

First, navigate to the ArtCloud Website Builder side of ArtCloud and click on Media. Then click on the ADD NEW MEDIA POST button in the top right corner of the screen.

Media Post Setup Page

After adding a new post, you'll be taken to the Media Post Setup page:

This section allows you to link the media that you are about to add to specific Artists, Artwork, and Exhibitions. You can link media to one or several of these types of records. For example, if your Artist page has tabs on it and this piece of media you're adding needs to live under the Video tab, you can very easily link the specific Artist and add a Media tag to this Post:

Formatting your media post

Once you've configured your Media Post Setup page, you can begin building your Media Post. Formatting your media post looks a lot like creating a page in ArtCloud's Website Builder.

There are Media Content Blocks to the right of the page for building your media post.

You can drag and drop these items wherever you would like into your media post and customize what these blocks say/display.

Once you've built your media post, you'll want to make sure the Published toggle is turned on to make sure that Media post is live and visible when add a Media block to our website.

Editing media posts

If you would like to edit a media post, you can hover over the blog post in the Media tab, and click on the Action dropdown that appears next to it. You can then press the Edit button, and begin editing your media post.

How do I add my media posts to my web page?

After you've built your media post and published it, you can now add it to your webpage! You can do this by navigating to the page you want to add all media posts to, clicking on All blocks, and scrolling down until you find the Media block. After you drag and drop this block onto the page, you'll see your Media Posts appear here.

Please note: Adding a media block to your page will populate ALL media posts from your dashboard. If you want to control which media post is displayed on specific pages, you will need to create the Media Post and link the media with Pro+ Linking.

You can add media to specific Artist pages without Pro+ Linking by editing the Artist biography.

How do I link my media to a specific Artist page, Inventory Detail page, or Exhibition Detail page?

You will need to have a Website Pro+ subscription in order to link Media onto specific Artist, Inventory Detail, and Exhibition Detail pages through Page Templates. This is performed with Pro+ Linking for Media Posts.
